Biodiversity & Ecology

Biodiversity planning for clients such as architects, developers and landscape architects is available through preliminary ecological appraisals, biodiversity-focused landscape masterplans, planting design, specification of biodiversity installations, and maintenance specifications rooted in best practice environmental horticulture.

Installation of biodiversity features is also available - this includes large insect hotels, bee posts, hedgehog houses, bee sand planters, wildflower turfing, native hedges and more. Installation services are available in Glasgow, Edinburgh, across the central belt, and further afield for larger jobs. We do not carry out any other commercial landscaping services.

Preliminary Ecological Appraisals will be available from summer 2025.

Well over 50%* of urban green space in Scotland is made up of private gardens, amenity space and public parks, so finding the right biodiversity solutions in all these types of green space could not be more important. Tom is passionate about helping commercial clients ensure that they can adhere to Biodiversity Net Gain requirements in such a way that genuine environmental progress is achieved, maintained and preserved. Tom can also help with arranging ecological appraisals and biodiversity statements, along with wildlife-friendly planting design.
