Planting Plans

Planting plans and a planting service are available throughout the year. As a Chartered Horticulturist, planting plans are a specialism of Tom’s. Generally planting plans are loose ecologically-informed herbaceous designs complemented with a mix of structural shrubs, evergreens and ornamental grasses interspersed to provide year-round structure. How does it work?

  • An on-site consultation where a microclimate analysis is undertaken, and a soil sample taken away. Thereafter a soil pH and soil texture test will be done. During the consultation we discuss your hopes and aspirations for the space, and the various options and any practical issues arising are discussed.

  • A quote based on the size of the area is produced for the production of the planting plan(s). An initial payment is required at this point to commission the design.

  • These are delivered as highly detailed 2D computer-drawn PDF documents, along with a plant list and an online mood board.

  • A quote for the supply and installation of your plants is provided. This includes any preparation work and soil remediation that may be required. Irrigation systems and flowerbed edging can also be quoted for at this point if required.

  • An optional extra, a maintenance plan can be produced as an additional document, detailing the aftercare required for each and every plant.

  • For jobs local to our base in Glasgow we offer a quarterly aftercare service, looking after all required pruning, feeding and cutting back.
