Project: Garden design (private client)
Location: Glasgow West
This residential garden in Glasgow was designed and created to complement a highly architectural and contemporary home. Clean lines, clipped topiary, and lush naturalistic planting were key to the end result, which the clients were delighted with.
A productive vegetable growing area was a key requirement, and this was included in the form of a discreet lean-to greenhouse, and raised beds screened behind a bespoke Corten steel screen. The existing shed was redesigned to create a sheltered porch area, and in order to accommodate a Sedum roof.
A number of design features were used to ensure the garden remained unified with the bold design of the house, and also existing ironwork in the front garden. Additional features were included that ensured the new garden blended in seamlessly. Some existing planting was also absorbed into a lush, naturalistic planting design that matured rapidly.
